summer of 2019

Wolves crashing through the window

wind blowing curtains moving plants

on windowsills we used to sit on

when it would rain

I could feel the sorrow in my veins

as I waited for you

to pull me out

and save the day

But what if you never did?

Would I be able to save myself

or would my fear

become like a grizzly bear

Towering and tumbling over and around

Until I could no longer bare the chains

of insecurity and self doubt

Whispering keep me safe and hold me close

But all one would hear is one voice

From one girl

Alone
